We are surrounded by intricate sandstone carvings on every surface. Shopkeepers call 'Namaste' from glittering textile encrusted doorways. The art adventurers have laden their bags with richly patterned and coloured fabrics and have begun filling their sketchbooks with drawings, new ideas, words and recipes. We responded to the stunning architecture with a mixed media workshop under the cool orange and yellow striped tent roof of the top floor of our hotel with views of the giant sandcastle fort and starred in the local newspaper. We have laughed from dawn to dusk and into the night with amazing dancing and music provided by the Queen of Jaisalmer.
